What is the difference between GHIN™ and other handicap providers?

GHIN is a support service that the SCGA uses in assisting its members and clubs with receiving a Handicap Index®. Any score posting support tool used result in scores reaching the USGA's centralized computation service, where all Handicap Index calculations take place. The only way to get a Handicap Index is through a golf club that is an authorized member club of an Allied Golf Association like the SCGA . Use of the GHIN Service through the SCGA allows you to use GHIN products, whereas other services cannot offer GHIN products. Whether you’re trying to qualify for the U.S. Open, play in a local club event, or participate in a charity tournament, a Handicap Index through the SCGA will always be accepted.
